A library for UTF-8 in PHP, licensed under the LGPL, providing UTF-8 aware functions to mirror PHP's own string functions. The library doesn't require PHP mbstring extension although, if found, it will use it to gain performance.
php-utf8 is derived from PHP UTF-8 at SourceForge. This project tries to keep the library working and up-to-date. It is is currently used in FluxBB, a lightweight forum application.
